TRANSPORT STUDY PROGRAMME FOR UNDERGRATUATE

MECHANICS AND AVIATION OPERATION
TRANSPORT STUDY PROGRAMME IS OFFERED BY THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN GLIWICE
Undergraduate course is a Full-Time course and it takes 7 semesters (3.5 year)

It leads to professional title of an Engineer
UCAS: BEng: H410 (Hons)
At the end of year three, you have the option of graduating with a BEng (Hons) or continuing for a further year for a MEng (Hons), subject to meeting the progression requirements.
Course credits: 210 ECTS

Employment opportunities include careers in aeronautics and aerospace, namely aircraft aerodynamics, wind turbine design and maintenance, aviation management, defense sector, aircraft maintenance, repair and operation services (MTO).

SPECIALITY MECHNICS AND AVIATION OPERATION
Graduate of this speciality will gain a Bachelor degree in engineering
Also will obtain a license of aviation mechanics cat. B 1.1. - "turbine aircraft", according to international standards specified in Part-66.
Training program for aircraft mechanic license cat. B 1.1. - "turbine aircraft", is implemented based on the program of Maintenance Training Organization (MTO) - Part-147 of the Silesian University of Technology, certificate no. PL.147.0021.2017.
It covers 1600 hours of theory and 1200 hours of apprenticeships training.

AIR NAVIGATION - PILOTING

TRANSPORT STUDY PROGRAMME FOR POSTGRADUATE
SPECILITY "AIR NAVIGATION" - PILOTING
Graduate of this speciality will gain a Bachelor degree in engineering

An airplane pilot license CPL (A) / ME / IR
- ATPL frozen (A) and MCC course completed - Commercial Pilot License (A)
- CPL(A), including Multi-Engine (ME) and Instrument Ratings (IR), plus,
ATPL theory and Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC) - 4th operational level, according to international standards - Part-FCL.
The training program for license of CPL (A) / IR / MME - ATPL (frozen) and MCC course according to Part-FCL is implemented based on the Approved Training Organization of the Silesian University of Technology - certificate No. PL / ATO - 78.
The training includes over 750 hours of theoretical training and approx. 200 hours of practical training in the air to obtain the rights specified in the above mentioned mentioned international standard.
TRANSPORT STUDY PROGRAMME IS OFFERED BY THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN GLIWICE
Postgraduate course is a Full-Time course and it takes 1.5 years which consists 3 semesters.
Master’s degree programme following the first Bachelor studies and leads to the professional title of Masters.
It is focused on theoretical knowledge as well as the application and development of creative skills.
To obtain the degree students must earn at least 90 ECTS credits.

Master’s degree holders may enter a doctoral programme (PhD).

Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering - History
The Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering was founded in 2002 as a continuation of educational process started at the University in 1969. Studies started at the Transport and Communication Department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The Institute of Transport and Communication was established in 1971, and in 1978 it took the role of a faculty.

In 1992, the Institute of Transport was transformed into the Faculty of Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Transport and Management.
​
The Faculty of Transport as an independent unit was established in 2002, by means of scientific and didactic base development.
​
From 1.10.2019 the Faculty of Transport is called the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering.
